Welcome to Lake Park Reunion. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Lake Park Reunion, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the platform.

2. Invite-Only Platform

Lake Park Reunion is an invite-only community for Lake Park High School alumni. To join, you must:

Receive a referral code from an existing member, OR
Be manually verified by our administrators

We reserve the right to verify your connection to Lake Park High School and revoke access if we determine you are not eligible.

3. Referral System

Each member receives a unique referral code to invite classmates
You are responsible for inviting only legitimate Lake Park alumni
Abuse of the referral system may result in account suspension
Referral codes cannot be sold or exchanged for value

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

Harass, bully, or threaten other users
Post spam, advertisements, or solicitations
Create fake profiles or impersonate others
Share explicit, violent, or illegal content
Attempt to access other users' accounts or private information
Use the platform for any commercial purpose without permission
Circumvent security measures or interfere with platform operation

5. Content Ownership

You retain ownership of content you post (photos, text, etc.)
By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, store, and distribute your content within the platform
You represent that you have the right to share any content you post
We may remove content that violates these terms without notice

6. Moderation

Our moderators and administrators may:

Remove content that violates these terms or community guidelines
Issue warnings for minor violations
Temporarily suspend accounts pending investigation
Permanently ban accounts for serious or repeated violations
Hide profiles from the public directory

Moderation decisions are made at our discretion. If you believe a decision was made in error, you may contact us for review.

7. Events & Tickets

7.1 Platform Role

Lake Park Reunion is a marketplace platform that enables members to create and sell tickets to events. We do not organize events ourselves. Event creators ("Organizers") are independent users who are solely responsible for their events.

7.2 For Event Attendees

Ticket purchases are transactions between you and the Event Organizer
Prices are set by Event Organizers and displayed in USD
A platform service fee may be added at checkout
You must provide accurate payment and contact information
Refund requests must be directed to the Event Organizer, who sets their own refund policy

7.3 For Event Organizers

You must connect a Stripe account to receive payments
You are responsible for setting ticket prices and your own refund policy
You must clearly communicate your refund policy to attendees
You are responsible for delivering the event as described
If you cancel an event, you must provide refunds to all ticket holders
Lake Park Reunion may retain its service fee even if refunds are issued

7.4 Event Liability

Lake Park Reunion is a platform facilitator and is not responsible for:

The quality, safety, or legality of events listed on the platform
Personal injury or property damage at events
Acts or omissions of Event Organizers or attendees
Refund disputes between Organizers and attendees
Event cancellations, changes, or no-shows by Organizers
Venue issues, weather, or other circumstances affecting events

All disputes regarding events should be resolved directly between the Event Organizer and attendees. We may assist in mediation at our discretion but are not obligated to do so.

8. Payment Processing & Fees

Payment processing is handled by Stripe Connect. By making a purchase or receiving payments as an Event Organizer, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and Stripe Connected Account Agreement.

8.1 Fee Structure

The total amount charged at checkout includes:

Ticket Price: Set by the Event Organizer
Stripe Processing Fee: Stripe's standard payment processing fee (currently 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction, subject to change by Stripe)
Platform Service Fee: Lake Park Reunion's fee for providing the marketplace

The final price displayed at checkout reflects all fees and rounding. Event Organizers receive the ticket price minus fees.

8.2 Payouts

Payments are transferred directly to Event Organizers via Stripe Connect
Payout timing is determined by Stripe and the Organizer's account settings
We are not responsible for payment disputes, chargebacks, or Stripe account issues

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Lake Park Reunion is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

Uninterrupted or error-free service
That the platform will meet your specific requirements
The accuracy or completeness of user-generated content
That all members are actually Lake Park alumni

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lake Park Reunion and its organizers shall not be liable for:

Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
Actions or content of other users
Service interruptions or data loss

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lake Park Reunion and its organizers from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform or violation of these terms.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend your account for violation of these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

15. No Affiliation with Lake Park High School

Lake Park Reunion is an independent alumni community created and operated by former students. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to Lake Park High School, District 108, or any of their employees, administrators, or official organizations.

Any use of the name "Lake Park," "Lancers," or related imagery is solely to identify the alumni community this platform serves and does not imply any official relationship or endorsement.
